- 5 years of experience with JP Morgan Fleming Asset Management HK Limited, of which he spent the last 3 years as managing director of the organisation’s Pacific Regional Group, reporting directly
to the CIO. He was responsible for managing Asian regional funds and leading the Greater China Team. He acted as the lead manager of the organization’s Asia Absolute Return and the Greater China Absolute
Return Funds with total AUM of US$1.2 billion.
- 7 years of experience with HSBC Asset Management HK Limited, of which he spent the first 6 years as Asian equities fund manager responsible for equity market strategy and stock selection in China,
Hong Kong, South Korea and Taiwan (US$1.2 billion of total AUM). He was also responsible for the training and development of four portfolio managers/research analysts. In his last year at HSBC Asset
Management Hong Kong Limited, Mr. CHUNG held the position of CIO, and was responsible for managing the entire investment process, asset allocation strategy and equity selection within Asia (ex. Japan
and Australia). He headed up an investment team of 15 professionals. The total AUM amounted to US$7.5 billion.
- Mr. CHUNG has earned a number of investment achievement awards including (i) Best Equity Fund (over 3 and 5 years) – South China Morning Post/Micropal Fund Manager of the Year Awards 1996; (ii) Best Hong Kong Equity Fund (over 5 years) – South China Morning Post/Micropal Fund Manager of the Year Awards 1997 and 1998; (iii) Top Quartile Ranking for HSBC Asian Equity Fund and HSBC Asian Opportunities Fund in the Micropal universe for 1998 and 1999; and (iv) voted Best Fund Manager in Asia, Asia Money Survey 1998.
- Mr. CHUNG holds a BA in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania (USA), and an MBA with Distinction from the University of Hong Kong (HK). Mr. CHUNG has previously held licenses under the SFC
(HK) as a Type 4, Type 5, and he currently holds a Type 9 license and is one of three Responsible Officers of Hindsight Investment Management (HK) Limited.
