- Mr. Warren Smith has over 25 years of experience in the global financial markets, in particular he specialised in trading of Asia Pacific equities. He started his career in London in 1975 where he traded UK equities as well as commodities for a number of UK brokers for 10 years. From 1985 to 1995, he was with Merrill Lynch in both London and Hong Kong where he was responsible for global trading in Asian Equities as well as setting up of exchange seats across the region including Shanghai, Bombay, Seoul Bangkok and Jakarta. He subsequently became in charge of Asian equity trading at Deutsche Morgan Grenfell in Hong Kong between 1995 and 1996. From 1996 to 2001 he was head of non-Japan global equity trading at Morgan Stanley based in Hong Kong responsible for all cash trading of non-Japan Asian equities in London, New York, Sydney and throughout Asia. He was also responsible for preparing various risk analysis reports involving market scenario as well as utilizing futures and derivatives to alleviate undue risk. He retired in 2001 and now lives on a farm in the West of England with his wife and daughter while still managing his personal portfolio as well as being an amateur racing driver.
